This policy explains what TypingNonStop (the site at typingnonstop.com) collects and why. You can use the site as a guest without an account.
What we collect
Guest use: your name, practice results, weak words, saved paragraphs and settings stay in your own browser (local storage). We do not receive them.
Earlier waitlist: if you joined the launch waitlist, we hold your email address and the optional name, exam and country you entered, and use them only to tell you about the launch and major updates. Ask us to remove you at any time.
Accounts: if you create an account we collect your email address and a password. Passwords are handled by Google Firebase Authentication, and we never see them. We also store the display name you choose.
Progress data (signed-in users): speeds, accuracy, practice time, rank, lesson progress, weak words, saved paragraphs and an optional profile picture are saved in Google Firebase (Firestore) so they follow you across devices.
Leaderboard: your display name, best speed and accuracy are visible to other users.
Feedback: the message you send, its type, your display name and the time.
Technical data: our hosting provider (Netlify) and Google services (Firebase and Google Fonts) may process technical data such as your IP address and browser type to deliver the site.
How we use it
To run the app, save your progress, show the leaderboard, answer feedback, fix problems and improve the site. We do not sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers that run the site: Google Firebase (accounts and database), Netlify (hosting) and Google Fonts. We do not currently show advertising or use analytics tools. If that changes, we will update this page first.
Cookies and local storage
The site uses your browser storage to remember your profile and progress. Third-party services may set their own cookies. You can clear this data in your browser settings; guest data will then be lost.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep account data until you ask us to delete it. To delete your account data, use the Send feedback button (type: Other) and tell us the email you registered with.
Children
TypingNonStop is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Security
We use reputable providers and access rules to protect data, but no online service is completely secure.
Changes
We may update this policy and will change the date above when we do.
